New York Battleground: The Race for the Senate

Robert Kennedy's historic 1964 campaign for the U.S. Senate, against incumbent Republican Kenneth Keating.

Kennedy had been the Attorney General in his brother's administration. After President Kennedy's assassination, Robert moved back to New York - where he had briefly lived - to make the race.

Included in the documentary are scenes of Kennedy and Keating campaigning, as well as with Senate candidates from the Socialist, Socialist Worker and Conservative parties.

The great journalist Eric Sevareid was narrator. Gene de Poris was Producer. Robert Richter was Associate Producer and co-writer with Sevareid.
